Before we get into details, let's meet Bianca, a fashion enthusiast, to find out how she achieved a stunning look with her attire—especially the fabulous braided hairstyle she wore for a diner party.

How I wore my knotless braided wig by Bianca

While having a conversation with a close friend, she began to tell me how my hairstyle made me look like a character from a fantasy book and sparkled at the diner party we went to.

Now I’m going to tell you how I flawlessly achieved that sparkling look with the black bohemian lace front braided wig I wore for the party.

Excitedly, I unpacked my new braided wig from Express Wig Braids called bohemian knotless braids - Sarah, marveling at the luscious braids of natural hair.

I wore a wig cap, making sure it covered all of my natural hair and fit snugly on my head. This kept my hair in place and created a barrier between my natural hair and the wig.

I carefully cut the extra lace from the front of the wig, leaving a thin strip that would fit in perfectly with my skin to give it a more natural appearance.

I placed the wig on my head, starting from the front and working towards the back. I adjusted the wig to align with my natural hairline. I used the adjustable straps inside the wig to secure it in place, ensuring a comfortable fit on my head.

Next, I took the tip of the lace front and placed it backward,  I applied a thin layer of wig adhesive around my hairline, I ensured not to apply the wig adhesive on my hairline and baby hairs. I allowed the adhesive to dry a bit and tacky to the touch. I placed the lace front back in the position it was. I started in the middle and worked my way towards the sides, softly pressing the lace against my skin.

I styled the front section of the braid in a top knot, while the back was collected in a high ponytail. I added my hair jewelry to give it a goddess look.

That was how I rocked!

7 Easy Steps to Achieve a Secure and Natural-looking Wig

Let's have a look at a step-by-step guide on how to wear your wig firmly without wig adhesive and get a great, natural-looking appearance.

Step 1: Start by preparing your natural hair. Make sure it's clean, dry, and braided or secured close to your head to provide a flat surface for the wig.

Step 2: Choose a wig cap that matches your skin tone. The wig cap will help hold your hair in place and create a smooth foundation for the braided wig. Make sure the wig cap is tight and that all of your hair is tucked inside it.

Step 3: Unpack the braided wig gently. Be careful not to pull on the delicate braids. Hold the wig in place on your head using the inside lace or cap. Place the front of the wig on your forehead, then slip it on from front to back, adjusting the front to match your natural hairline.

Step 4: Use the adjustable straps or combs inside the wig cap to keep the wig in place. For a comfortable fit, make sure it's snug but not too tight.

Step 5: If you're wearing a full-lace wig, use sharp scissors to trim the excess lace at the front of the wig. Cut close to the hairline, but be careful not to cut the actual hair. Leave just a small amount of lace to achieve a natural effect.

Step 6: Check out the wig for any looseness or discomfort and adjust it to ensure it is secure and comfortable. Tuck any stray hair under the wig.

Step 7: Style the wig as desired after it is securely in place. Consider adding accessories depending on the wig style to add more elegance to your look.

Now that your braided wig is perfectly in place, you can confidently flaunt a gorgeous and hassle-free hairstyle!

Precautions to Take When Using Wig Glue to Secure Your Braided Wig

It’s important to take precautions to minimize the risk of damaging the wig and your natural hair while using glue to secure your braided wig. Here are some precautions to take:

  1. Choose an adhesive that is specifically made for wigs.
  2. Use a small amount of adhesive to avoid excessive buildup.
  3. Apply a wig cap to protect your natural hair from the adhesive.
  4. Avoid getting the glue directly on the hairline or baby hairs when applying the glue.
  5. Excessive heat sources, such as hair dryers or styling equipment, should be kept away from the braids because they are made of synthetic fiber hair.
  6. When removing the wig, use a wig adhesive solvent or remover. Avoid using force; instead, gently follow the directions on the solvent to dissolve the adhesive without pulling or tugging on it.
  7. Check the instructions given by the manufacturer of the wig adhesive. The application and removal processes for different products could differ.

How to Maintain Your Braided Wig

Here are a few tips to keep your braided wig looking vibrant and well-maintained for an extended period.

  1. Store the braided wig on a wig stand or mannequin head when not in use to keep the braided wig in shape.
  2. If you will be wearing your wig to bed, consider wearing a satin or silk scarf or using a satin pillowcase to reduce friction and prevent tangling.
  3. Depending on the material, you may be able to wash the wig occasionally. Use a mild shampoo and cold water, then wash gently.
  4. Reduce the amount of heat that your braids are exposed to, such as heat from curling irons or hair dryers. Too much heat may damage the synthetic fibers and cause them to lose their shape.
  5. Avoid pulling on the braid wig, as this could cause frizzing or damage.
  6. Use wig-friendly products, and avoid products with harsh chemicals.
